Non è quel Nick Cave. Quest’altro Nick Cave è un artista americano che reinterpreta i costumi tribali africani in modi surreali e sorprendenti.

I lavori di Claerwen James ritraggono delle persone un po’ perplesse e un po’ angosciate. Lei interpreta magistralmente il malessere di questi tempi maledetti. E pensare che, per la sua fortuna, non vive nemmeno in Italia.

Rappresentare poi i risultati ottenuti come fosse un rapporto annuale di un ente o di un’azienda. Questo è in sostanza quello che ha fatto Nicholas Felton, un graphic designer di New York, e devo dire che trovo il risultato finale del suo lavoro molto bello. A parte aspetto estetico, rivedere una vita attraverso numeri e dati crudi fa anche riflettere.

Alla Deitch Projects Gallery di New York è in corso una mostra retrospettiva sullo stilista scomparso Stephen Sprouse. La fama di Sprouse è legata alle sue collaborazioni con alcuni protagonisti della scena Pop /Rock newyorchese degli anni 80. Personalmente ricordo molto bene (e con piacere) i vestitini che lui aveva disegnato per Debbie Harry dei Blondie. Sul sito della mostra si possono ammirare anche alcune opere grafiche e pittoriche di Sprouse. Ci sono delle cose Interessanti.

Un gigantesco aeroplano gonfiabile sempre in fase di atterraggio. “Plane Landing” è una scultura di Aleksandra Mir.
