Fire and Rain

Quando perdi una persona cara, specialmente se non la vedevi da molto tempo o se era in un posto lontano, improvvisamente ti rendi conto che non la potrai mai più incontrare. Capisci che non potrai mai più parlare con quella persona, che le cose per te sono cambiate per sempre. È una sensazione amara e soffocante che non assomiglia a nessun’altra. Improvvisamente ti rendi conto delle dimensioni dell’eternità, e non importa se nella tua vita ci siano stati giorni belli o giorni brutti, che ci sia stata la fortuna o la sfiga, che ci sia stato il fuoco o la pioggia.

James Taylor qui dice tutto questo e piange la sua amica Suzanne, morta improvvisamente mentre lui era lontano e affaccendato in altre faccende. L’anno è 1970, la canzone è “Fire & Rain”.

Vasco cosa mi combini?

Ho avuto la disgrazia di sentire la cover di “Creep” dei Radiohead cantata da Vsco Rossi (si chiama “Ad ogni costo”). È pietosa, fa veramente cagare, è una delle cose più brutte che mi sia mai capitata di ascoltare. Prendere una delle canzoni più belle del mondo e distrurggerla in questo modo è imperdonabile. “Creep” è un inno generazionale, ha un testo denso, doloroso e toccante. La versione di Vasco invece ha un testo banale e inutile in Italiano. Pensate che dove non riesce a tenere la rima, lui canta “nànnànaaaaa”!!!. Questa roba è l’opposto del Rock, è la morte del Rock. A me Vasco generalmente piace ma stavolta ha toppato di brutto. Questa non la dovevo proprio fare.

Matthew McConaughey non si regge in piedi

Chissà se ha qualche problema di equilibrio, ma in molte locandine dei suoi film Matthew McConaughey appare appoggiato a qualcosa o a qualcuno. Una coincidenza che mi ha fatto ridere.
